Norway, located in Northern Europe, is officially known as the Kingdom of Norway and it is one of the most expensive nations, in terms of cost of living, in the world. Norway has an abundance of natural resources including petroleum, hydropower, forests, fish and minerals. Further chief industries are food processing, metals, chemicals, mining, shipbuilding, fishing and pulp and paper products. It is the third largest exporter of oil after Saudi Arabia and Russia. Norway is a founding member of the United Nations, the Council of Europe and NATO. Its membership in the European Economic Area (EEA) gives it an access to the EU's internal market. |
